1. Faculty mentoring Program for 1st year students

• 1. To guide and monitor the academics progress of needy 1st year B.Tech SC/ST students.
• 2. One or Two students will be assigned to a volunteering faculty who will be mentoring these students till their graduation.
• 3. To build confidence and hopes in a new student who may have difficulty in understanding and following the NITK academic setup on his/her own.
• 4. Students will be highly benefitted from this program as they are being mentored by their own Professors in the absence of their parents on campus.

2. Conversation Partner Program for the btech 1st year SC/ST students

• 1. To create opportunities to practice, build confidence, and improve the conversational English skills of sc/st students.
• 2. 1st year students will be partnered with senior students who are proficient in English.
• 3. In addition to improving the English skills, this program also gives an opportunity for the partnering student to serve as a 'Buddy' for the new student.
